Thrive Boxes

By For Higher Logic Sites and Communities

Style HTML widgets to match HL's Thrive theme interface.

If your HL site uses the Thrive theme, Thrive Boxes gives your HTML widgets the same polished look as Thrive's native UI components — matching borders, spacing, typography, and header styling.

It's the easiest way to make custom content feel like it belongs on your Thrive-themed site.

See it in action

Below is a regular HTML widget compared to one with the Thrive Boxes plugin applied. Notice how the Thrive Box version matches the styling of other native Thrive components.

How to style a Thrive Box

  1. Add an HTML widget to your page, or open an existing HTML widget.
  2. In the widget's settings, check the box for "Show Name of Title above content." This is required — the Thrive Box styling depends on the widget title being visible.
  3. Give the widget a title if it doesn't have one. This title will display as the box's header.
  4. Add the CSS Wrapper Class Name theme-logic-thrive-box to the widget.
  5. Save and publish. Your widget is now styled as a Thrive Box.

Styling

Thrive Boxes inherit your site's Thrive theme styling automatically. The colors, fonts, border radius, and spacing will match whatever is already configured in your Thrive theme settings — no additional configuration needed.

If you want variations (different colors, alternate layouts, custom header treatments), that's a custom job. See the "Need something custom?" section below.

Good to know

"Show Name of Title above content" is required. This is the most common setup issue. Without this checkbox enabled, the plugin won't have a title to style as the box header and the result will look incomplete.

Content inside the box is unstyled. The plugin styles the container and the header — the content inside your widget displays using whatever styling you've applied in the editor. That's intentional, so your content can be as simple or as richly formatted as you need.

Pairs well with other plugins. Thrive Boxes work great as containers for Easy Buttons, Collapsible Panels, or any other plugin's content.
